Terms of Service

Last updated: October 2, 2026 • Effective date: October 2, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Faurus software, code judge engines, proctored examination portals, and online compiler tools. By registering an account or accessing any Faurus service, you enter into a legally binding contract with Faurus.

1. Agreement & Parties

These Terms constitute an agreement between you (“User” or “Student”) and Faurus (Operated by Anant Vardhan Pandey), AECS Layout, Kundalahalli, Whitefield, Bangalore, Karnataka, India.

These Terms apply to all digital services under the Faurus brand, including faurus.app, code.faurus.app, exam.faurus.app, and compiler.faurus.app.

Eligibility: You must be at least 13 years old to use the platform. If you are under the age of 18 (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction), you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and consented to these Terms on your behalf.

2. Accounts & Security

  • One Account Per Person: Each account is strictly for an individual human user. Creating multiple accounts or sharing login credentials is a breach of these Terms.
  • Accurate Details: You agree to provide true and accurate information during registration. Impersonating another person or registering with false affiliations is prohibited.
  • Credential Security: You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password, Google/GitHub OAuth permissions, and two-factor authentication credentials. You are responsible for all actions conducted through your account.
  • Notice of Breach: If you suspect unauthorized access to your account, you must immediately notify ceo@faurus.app.

3. Acceptable Use Policy (Zero-Tolerance Rules)

To preserve our competitive ladder and academic integrity, you agree not to engage in any of the following prohibited activities:

A. Contest & Examination Cheating

  • Sharing solution code, algorithmic approaches, or problem hints during active rated contests or proctored exams.
  • Using ghost accounts, sock-puppet handles, or secondary accounts to farm ratings or scout contest problems.
  • Using unauthorized external AI assistants, copilots, or third-party web tools during competitions that explicitly prohibit external assistance.
  • Tampering with, circumventing, or defeating browser proctoring hooks or client integrity listeners.

B. Plagiarism & Code Theft

  • Submitting another person's code, solution, or editorial as your original work in rated contests or lab assignments. All submissions are subject to automated AST-based MOSS plagiarism comparison.

C. System Attacks & Infrastructure Abuse

  • Submitting malicious payloads targeting the judge sandbox, including fork bombs, kernel exploit attempts, memory-bomb attacks, crypto-currency miners, port-scanning scripts, or network socket abuse.
  • Attempting sandbox escapes or bypassing Linux cgroups, namespaces, and seccomp filters.
  • Launching Denial of Service (DoS) attacks or intentionally overwhelming the dispatch queues.

D. Automated Scraping & Commercial Exploitation

  • Scraping, crawling, or bulk-downloading problem banks, test case inputs/outputs, system benchmarks, or editorial solutions using automated scripts.
  • Reverse-engineering, decompiling, or disassembling any portion of the Faurus compiler and sandbox engine.
  • Reselling, renting, sublicensing, or commercially redistributing access to Faurus passes or test suites.

E. Community Conduct

  • Posting spam, advertisements, malware links, harassing messages, abusive language, or defamatory content in discussion channels and solution writeups.

4. Contests, Examinations & Proctoring

When you enter rated contests on code.faurus.app or institutional examinations on exam.faurus.app:

  • You explicitly consent to real-time proctoring telemetry monitoring (such as tab switches, window blur events, fullscreen changes, and heartbeat pings) as described in our Privacy Policy.
  • Faurus and participating exam administrators reserve the unilateral right to review event timelines, flag anomalies, disqualify contestants, dock rating points, or void examination attempts for integrity breaches.
  • Institutional examinations are additionally subject to the specific honor codes and academic disciplinary policies of the administering university or employer.

5. Your Code & User Content

  • You Own Your Code: You retain full copyright and ownership of the original software code and text solutions you write on Faurus.
  • License to Faurus: To operate our service, you grant Faurus a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to store, compile, execute, benchmark against test cases, analyze for plagiarism, and display your code in accordance with your chosen privacy settings.
  • Discussion Posts: Comments, questions, and editorial snippets posted in public discussion forums are publicly visible to all platform members.
  • Removal Rights: Faurus reserves the right to remove or hide any user-submitted content that violates intellectual property laws, contains malicious payloads, or breaches these Terms.

6. Faurus Intellectual Property

The Faurus platform, logos, UI designs, proprietary problem statements, test case matrices, editorial writeups, execution environments, and grading algorithms are the exclusive intellectual property of Faurus or its licensors.

You are granted a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access the content solely for personal, non-commercial educational training. You may not republish Faurus problem descriptions or test suites on external websites without prior written consent.

7. Artificial Intelligence Features & Disclaimers

  • Faurus incorporates generative artificial intelligence (including the Nexus assistant, code hint generator, and AI viva panel). AI-generated outputs are probabilistic and may occasionally produce inaccurate, incomplete, or non-optimal suggestions.
  • You remain entirely responsible for reviewing, testing, and understanding any code or advice suggested by AI tools.
  • Do not paste confidential corporate secrets, proprietary source code, or personally identifiable information into AI prompts.

8. Commercial Terms, Passes & Billing

All consumer passes and institutional deployments on Faurus operate under transparent, fixed-duration terms.

  • Pass Tiers: Faurus offers foundational free tier access, paid sovereign Pro Passes (1-Month, 2-Month, 3-Month, and 4-Month Passes), alongside customized institutional campus cohort licensing.
  • Currency & Taxes: All consumer prices are quoted in Indian Rupees (INR) and are inclusive of applicable Goods and Services Tax (GST) where required by Indian law.
  • 1-Time Payment Architecture: Pro Passes are provisioned strictly on a 1-time payment basis with zero recurring auto-debit. When your pass duration lapses, you will never experience surprise recurring credit card or UPI debits; you decide manually when to renew.
  • Coupon Codes: Promotional coupons (such as verified Campus Ambassador vouchers) apply discounts strictly to eligible pass orders. Misuse of coupons or unauthorized exploitation may result in pass revocation.
  • Refund Policy: All refund and cancellation procedures are governed by our standalone Refund & Cancellation Policy.
  • Price Changes: Faurus reserves the right to modify pass prices for future purchases at any time. Changes will not retroactively affect active passes.

9. Service Availability & Re-Judging

The services are provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis. While we maintain resilient multi-region infrastructure, Faurus does not warrant that services will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Faurus reserves the right to schedule maintenance, patch sandbox kernels, or re-judge historical submissions if a problem test suite, time limit benchmark, or compiler version is updated for fairness.

10. Suspension & Account Termination

  • By Faurus: We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account without notice if you violate these Terms, cheat in competitions, attack sandbox infrastructure, or engage in abusive behavior.
  • By You: You may discontinue using Faurus at any time. To request full deletion of your profile data, email ceo@faurus.app from your registered email address.

11. Limitation of Liability & Indemnity

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Indian law, Faurus, its founders, directors, and employees shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages (including loss of profits, data, rating prestige, or academic standing) arising out of or related to your use of the platform.

In no event shall Faurus's aggregate cumulative liability for all claims related to the services exceed the greater of ₹1,000 INR or the total amount paid by you to Faurus in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Faurus against any third-party claims, liabilities, damages, and expenses arising from your violation of these Terms or your user content.

12. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of India, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes, controversies, or claims arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts located in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.

Both parties agree to first attempt informal resolution in good faith by contacting ceo@faurus.app before initiating any judicial proceedings.
